As an OAP don’t have loads a’ money, but want my 9 yr old Setter to keep fit & active. Prices seen on web range from £6.99 for 15kg to £37.99 for 15kg. Probably others even less to even more. How do I know I get what I pay for? Or shall I make up my own mix? What works best for YOUR dog? (No adverts please)

My Mother and Father are staying over at my residence while their house is being renovated, their dog is coming along too.
I burn frankincense and myrrh and I’m wondering if they could be harmful to a dog’s health.

I would appreciate your feedback on the insurance that you have for your pet, as well, as how much does it cost you. Thank you!
Please if you tell me that you are in favor of pet insurance, tell me the name of the insurance and the amount you pay. I will really appreciate it.

People that dont feed their dogs dog food, rather homemade health meals. is that safe?

Some people are against the dry foods because of what it is made out of, so Im wondering if you make them homemade healthy meals and if its working out?

I read this:

“The best way to know what goes into your dog’s food is to make it yourself. With the recent pet food recall, many pet owners are doing just that. Though some experts argue that a homemade diet is best for dogs, this is best done temporarily until you can consult your veterinarian, as canines have definite nutritional requirements.”

What if my veternarian says NO and wants her to eat purina or Iams or something though? I wont know how much meat and veggies I need to give her, if the vet doesnt discuss it with me.

Btw, theres been a lot of trolling going around. Id appreciate that if you are going to answer, that you act like an adult and give me mature input.

If you dont agree with looking for what I believe to be healtier alternatives for the dog, DONT RESPOND. Its that simple.
Wow Johnny D. Thank you so much for respecting me and doing exactly what I asked you not to do.

This is Q&A’s about NOT feeding them dog food.

FIRST he has been to the vet he was diagnosed with a disease called degenerative meylopthy and he also has hip displasia. (sorry about spelling the diseases wrong) He is not in pain because the first disease makes him loose feeling in his legs. He just walked funny for a while now he is draging his foot a lot and he trips over his own rear legs. Not all the time but when he tries to play or he might fall if he is caught off gaurd. He doesn’t seem to be unhappy at all but I feel so bad for him. I think I am dealing with it worse than the dog he just gets a little frustrated when he has a hard time getting up otherwise he just ignores it and keeps going. My husband is in denial maybe that is how I should be???
yes he is a german shepherd we don’t plan to let him get to the point where he needs a cart we have a lot of stairs and that would be really hard and for that matter he has always been afraid of staris.

LoveMyDogs asked:

I would like to get my dog an OFA heart & eye exam. Where can this be done? I know there are health clinics, but there are none within 2 hours of me for a long time!

Another question, can OFA health screenings be done at a vet’s office?

thanks :) I already know my vet doesn’t do it.
I guess you’re not reading it right or I’m not making it clear enough. I’m not asking people to give me names of people in my area, I’m asking if there are vets (in general, in or out of my area) who will do heart tests and CERF exams in their own veterinary office, not just in busy all-breed weekend health clinics. Also wondering how these vets can be found, if there is a list of dog cardiologists, maybe?

I can’t have anything as big as a cocker. It needs to be able to fit through a dog door 12″ by 8″.
I am getting a dog, but I don’t know which breed is best? I need something the size of an american cocker spaniel or smaller.
NO COCKER SPANIELS!! TOO BIG
