No, most infections that are prone to affect animals will not affect humans. Of course, you need to maintain the wellness exams for pets!! For example: Rabies. Well, we all know that if you are bitten by a rabid animal, you will contract the disease. However, with the warmer weather, the chances of your pet(s), if they go outdoors, finding a deer tick is quite possible. Has you Dog had the vaccine for Lyme Disease and do you apply EVERY month, Flea & Tick protection??? So, basically, if your dog is up-to-date on vaccines, consistent use of Flea & Tick, along with inspections of your dog to check for ticks, then it’s your personnel preference to have your dog(s) sleep with you. I hope that this helps.
