As an OAP don’t have loads a’ money, but want my 9 yr old Setter to keep fit & active. Prices seen on web range from £6.99 for 15kg to £37.99 for 15kg. Probably others even less to even more. How do I know I get what I pay for? Or shall I make up my own mix? What works best for YOUR dog? (No adverts please)

I did take her to the vet and the nose was not an issue, but she had lost some weight and the vet told me what to watch for, so now everyone is better and just knowing what to watch for is great !! thanks for the one answer. WEndy

I know nothing about dog diseases, I guess like cats, they’ll have certain vaccins and deworming every 6 months?
I’m going to the animal shelter tomorrow and I need to make sure I don’t end up with a dog who has health problems, for 2 reasons: obviously it means more money spending on vets and also, it’s heart breaking to have a pet who’s sick.
Is there a virus he could have? I have a cat at home so I don’t want to risk any contagious infection. Please help!

Some people have written in to tell him that while they own dogs they also contribute to charities, etc and how dare he tell them what their hobbies should be. I’d like to write a short response of my own mentioning health benefits since no one has touched on that subject yet.
